Late Christmas Post
Well, that's it, another christmas over. Would have posted earlier but firstly i've not had much chance to get online and secondly i've not done much to write about anyway!
Had a pretty good couple of days, the usual really, got a couple of bits I wanted for christmas but the big one is the money so I can get an Xbox 360... Me and ten million others. I may have a very long wait and by that point will have probably changed my mind and bought something else.
Tom, the lucky bastard, only managed to get one from PC World on boxing day! God knows how he managed that.
Just got back to my house this morning, I was starting to get very bored at home in the middle of nowhere! And I'm looking forward to new year, not doing anything exciting but Mike, Alex and Stu are coming round for a 'few' games of poker and a 'few' beers ;-)
Infact, Mike's coming down this afternoon so we can go out and get pissed tonight as well.... why not, it's christmas!

King Kong
Went to see King Kong with Stu last night and it was really really good. Might have been three hours long but it didn't seem that long, or drag at all.... unlike certain other films (lotr).
Pretty amazing special effects as well as a good story, quite cool it being set in the thirties too, you don't get many modern films set in that era and it worked really well, I can see why the budget was so big though! Certainly was a million times better than the last film I saw with Stu, War Of The Worlds...

Annoying Gallery
Grrr... the best thing I got at Coldplay was the video and for some reason Gallery won't recognise the file format, even though I know it supports uploading videos as well as photo's, it was an mpg, so it wasn't like it was some strange format!
Coldplay
They were absolutely class. Really really good, put on as good show, if not better than I was expecting too.
Tried to get a couple of photo's but there wasn't a chance of them coming out, too far away :(
Here's one anyway...

Took a video on my camera too which shows off the atmosphere quite well. I've stuck them all on gallery.
On the negative side, it took me over four hours to get home this afternoon, for some reason the M1 was closed between junction 16-18 and so I had to go all round the houses to get home and it took forever! There's a work christmas pub crawl tonight, didn't plan on going anyway, but i'm definitely not now, i'm knackered!

Work Christmas Do
As you can tell from the time I'm posting this, i'm off work today :-D (Well, I might been home by now.... but anyway). Had the Christmas do last night with the other people off my project, so I thought I'd make the most of all this holiday I haven't used and take off today.
Was a pretty good night, we booked out a bar and even had a nice tab supplied by our manager. There was a buffet (of sorts), but that wasn't worth the £8 a head we paid for it! (well, the company paid for it).
Was nice to get to know a few more of the people I work with socially, but was a pretty average night all in all, the 'club' upstairs was shocking!
Christmas shopping tomorrow! :-|Labels: Nights out / Nights in, Work

Two days in Stratford
Never been to Stratford-upon-avon before, really nice town.
Had the second of my graduate scheme courses down there this week, just got back. This one was team working and it was actually really good. Nice bunch of people and the 'team building' games were pretty fun.
Since we had a stupidly early start on wednesday morning we decided to opt against going and getting absolutley wasted with some of the others and instead a group of us had a nice wander round a stratford and just stopped in a couple of pubs for a few drinks.
Feel like I got to know some of the grads a bit better on this one, well a lot better, firstly because there was all 85 at the induction which was way to many to talk to! Secondly because it was just me from siemens comms this time, so i mixed a lot more and lastly because we had some social time in the evening! :)
Sadly our group lost the final challenge, but we did do very well at the other tasks, just no prize :( lol

22 days to go... Better stock up on bulbs...
It's only the 2nd of December and my housemate's house is already beginning to look like santa's grotto...

Lol.
I was warned he had a few lights... he wasn't joking.... Even getting out my car proved to be tricky!
Time for the christmas music to come out I reckon! ....If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
Although, it still can't quite compete with this for christmas lights...
