It's that time of the year again...
Yep, it's that time again, mobile upgrade time! :-)
Actually, it won't be this time next year... as I've now moved to an 18 month contract. And for the second time in as many posts i've gone against my gadget-addict principles! Well... no quite, but the phone i've gone for is almost the complete opposite of my XDA Mini S!
Only took me about a fortnight to decide on a contract, but then only took me literally an hour to decide on which phone!

Apparently, this is currently the slimmest phone in the world! Soooo cool :) I only went for this finally because I realised if I stayed on O2 I could still use my XDA if I wanted to and switch between them and I really wanted a cool thin phone for carrying about. Originally I was going to switch to T-Mobile because their Flext tariff's seemed really good, but then I found a good one on O2 so went for that option instead! £30 a month for 400 anytime minutes and 750 texts, not to bad at all I don't think!
Oh yeah and Mike's gone for the same phone... :-| Why is it we always end up buying the same things!?!? Just hope it's good... although all the reviews are very good etc. Just have to see!
And to make this day even better, found out last night Kosheen have FINALLY announced their new tour and album launch!! :-D :-D I'll be buying the album on the launch day, that's for sure... waited long enough for the bloody thing!
They're not playing many places this time, but luckily they are playing in Nottingham, at the Rescue Rooms on the 6th May. Tickets booked already of course :-)
Apart from that, meant to be going to Loveshack tomorrow night, but I feel absolutely crap, got a cold or something, so not sure :-(
Ah well, my new phone should help cheer me up when it gets here...

Muse @ Nottingham Arena (2 of 3)
All I will say is The Killers will need to be pretty impressive to beat that! Muse put on a well good show, really really cool. I actually forgot how many good songs they have had as well! They are known for being good live and I'd definitely agree and recommend other people seeing them!
I wasn't a fan of the support act, but i wasn't going to see them, so not really bothered. They were some band called the Noisettes, very very heavy with a female vocalist (who was slightly mental!), but apart from maybe a couple of songs they all sounded the same to me, with her screaming into the microphone.
I actually have some pictures from this one, courtesy of Jim who was there as well and he was standing with his camera - a lot closer than we were. See them on gallery! And hopefully you're seeing the video above (Looks like it only works in Internet Explorer i'm afraid...), that came out amazingly well, the sound is even quite good!

The Feeling @ Rock City (1 of 3)
Last night was The Feeling at Rock City, was going to just post after I'd finished this "gig marathon" over the next two weeks, but what the hell, i'll post after each one!I'm off work today anyway, no particular reason but just trying to use up holiday and since i'm doing two gigs in two nights thought I might as well to recover.
Anyway, The Feeling. Was a really really good gig, infact they were even better than I expected - and I was expecting it to be good, ask anyone how many times i've listened to the album ;-)
They did all the album stuff (well most of it) and a song off the new album as well, which sounded good. Also did a cover of Video Killed The Radio Star, which was quite cool!
Ended on Love It When You Call, my favourite song off the album, so it was all good :)
Oh yeah, the support band were good too! Called Captain, I'd actually heard of them :-O I think they've been on Jo Whiley's show on Radio 1 and I definitely knew a couple of their singles.
Me and Surovy last night, tonight it's me, Claire and Mike seeing Muse... report tomorrow no doubt!
(P.S - No photo's again, I did attempt to use my phone camera, but it wouldn't even take one as it reckons it has no memory left - god knows what its actually being used up on! Not that it would have been more than a bright blur if I had got one... I'll take my proper camera to the Killers, not much point at Muse we'll be too far away!)

The Killers (continued)
Annoyingly, Mike didn't get any tickets... and neither did Stu... or most people it seems! Apparently all venues had sold out by like 9:30 this morning (half hour after lines opened).
Rock City being one of the smallest made it even worse! Why didn't they play the arena, why god why! lol
Oh yeah, by half nine there were also pairs of tickets going on ebay for over £300...
yes three hundred pound... mental!
I might flog my four and go on that trek america holiday with the earnings... ;-)

The Killers and more..
Woohoo! Just got tickets to see The Killers at Rock City on 25th of November. I didn't post anything in advance about it because I didn't want to promote it too much ;-) Had enough trouble as it was, took 15 minutes of refreshing various websites and couldn't get through on the phone at all!
Fingers crossed for Mike, he's still trying and he needs two more tickets for him and Joanne! I got the maximum of four, for me, Claire, Surovy and her friend.
Can't believe they're playing Rock City, they could easily have filled Nottingham Arena! Gonna be soooo good though.
I probably haven't mentioned before on here either that I'm going to have a mental couple of weeks around that time in November... not only am I seeing The Killers now, but the week before that I'm seeing The Feeling at Rock City again on the 16th and Muse at the arena on the 17th!!!!!
I'm about doubling my total gig count in two weeks lol.
Mike's still trying.... :-| This isn't good.... I must have been very lucky, but he needs to get some too! I'm just worried they're gonna be sold out soon.

Twelve Stops And Home
I know I keep saying, but The Feeling's album is so good! It's definitely now one of my favourites this year and I would recommend getting it if you haven't already! It has to be good because it's now passed the boredom test, as in, i've played it about 30 times and i'm still not bored of it at all :)As for best song on there, it has to be Love It When You Call. Tennis and Town
Just had another game of tennis with Mike, I played absolutely shockingly bad, especially in the second set but somehow still won in the end :-D 6-4 2-6 7-5
Went into town this morning to cash the money from my birthday - always worth getting up early on saturday for! Bought a few bits and bobs for going away too and the new Zutons album.
Only two weeks on tuesday til I go to Rome :-D Can't come soon enough, although I still need to look into things to do there, not that there's likely to be a lack, i think it'll be more a problem of getting everything we want to do into four days! I'd quite like to go to Pompeii and Mount Versuvius, there are quite a lot of day tours from Rome there, just quite a long way to go that's all.
Pub time now I think.

Coldplay
They were absolutely class. Really really good, put on as good show, if not better than I was expecting too.
Tried to get a couple of photo's but there wasn't a chance of them coming out, too far away :(
Here's one anyway...

Took a video on my camera too which shows off the atmosphere quite well. I've stuck them all on gallery.
On the negative side, it took me over four hours to get home this afternoon, for some reason the M1 was closed between junction 16-18 and so I had to go all round the houses to get home and it took forever! There's a work christmas pub crawl tonight, didn't plan on going anyway, but i'm definitely not now, i'm knackered!

Crasher Classics
Ooh yes, just booked tickets for Crasher Classics at Gatecrasher1 in Sheffield - Going with Jamie, bank holiday Sunday 28th...

That's going to be one hell of a night, after not going out properly clubbing for this long (feels like about a year, nevermind a couple of months!), i'm going to be going all out, sod going home at half 12 like I normally have to, this will be a full on all-nighter, 9 til 6... And with the perfect music to go with it! Last time I went to a decent night was Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems at Gatecrasher1 last year with James, I could have lived there with that music, absolutley amazing... and this stands to be better still...
....Looking at the DJ Line up....!
John OO Fleming Matt Hardwick Lange Solar Stone Riley & Durrant Stevie G
Why can't it be sooner!!!
I've just realised, this is probably going to be only the second proper club night i've ever been on! First one was Godskitchen with Danny where I saw Armin van Buuren, and that was about 3 years ago! Shocking. The sad thing is, this may well be my last too, hopefully not though!
Right, anyway, i'll stop going on now - i'm not excited, honest!
Must remember to book the Monday off work.... :-|
