Student for a night...

So much for letting go of the student life, we're off out in Sheffield this weekend again for Alex's and James' birthdays.... at the union :)

James still working there has it's advantages!

Should be a good night hopefully, if we can all not argue over which room we spend our time in... i.e. the usual indie vs. dance vs. cheese arguements. Ahh it'll be just like old times!

Bowling tonight in Nottingham, hope I bowl better than last time, was really shocking then, didn't even get above 100!

So good weekend planned hopefully. Although the thing I'm really looking forward to is moving... Three weeks tomorrow, come on!

Graduation

We're now officially not students any more!

Went back to Sheffield yesterday for graduation. It was really good, couldn't fault the day at all from the ceremony til the night out afterwards. I have never had so many pictures taken in my entire life though (not that it wasn't expected!). Even got into our own Hallam Uni night at Kingdom for the very last time, which is impressive saying that none of us had valid student ID! lol

Just felt like being a proper student again for the day with everyone back to together and going out with students and everything, but that's it now, no more :-(
Think I should do what Alex is doing and apply to another course, keep holding on to the student life as long as possible! Too right.

I will be trying to bring down my email server over the next few days by asking everyone to share all their photo's with me, so I can get them uploaded to gallery :)

I'm sure there's loads and loads more I could say about yesterday, but I have to say the whole thing was a lot better than I expected, mainly because everything went so smoothly I think. Certainly something i'm not going to forget, then again, who would forget their graduation, it's not exactly something that happens every day!

Anyway, I'll post again in a few days, hopefully when I've attempted to collect some photo's and get them on gallery.

Results!

I got a 2:1 :-D :-D

I am very very pleased with that, from the moment I took those exams I expected to come out with a 2:2 or possibly fail some of them and have to re-take. I can't have asked for any better than this, particularly as it was a high 2:1 - 67% average!

Well done to everyone else as well, pretty much everyone got what they wanted, 2:1's (or first's in the case of Tom and James).

Time for some celebration I think! Well, apart from a meal out that might have to be postponed til next weekend.

Although, feel kind of guilty celebrating anything at the moment after the terrorist attacks in London yesterday, apparently at least 50 are now confirmed dead according to BBC News. Don't really know what to say about it other than I just hope they catch someone this time and put them away for a very long time. Not that that will provide much comfort for the families involved, but it's something.

Last day in sheffield

Well, that's it. Almost packed here, last night as a student, last night living in sheffield, last night of freedom :(

I just thought about the fact I'm going back to Siemens, it's going to seem so weird to start with, but I know within a matter of days it'll be like I never left!

And that's the problem.

I know how much I was looking forward to coming back to the student life while I was on placement, but I won't have that to look forward to this time... Not that there's anything wrong with Siemens, it would be the same wherever I worked, just it'll seem all the more familiar like this.

Wonder what the night life's like in Southwell... :-|

The End

Well, there we go, that's it, the last night out at uni over, the end of an era, four years from when it all began! Don't think its quite sunk in yet at all, nevermind the fact that I now actually have nothing to do, no more revision, woohoo!




Its kind of sad thinking that we might not all see each other again for a long while, as we're all off to different parts of the country to work and stuff, but hopefully we'll all keep in contact and organise some nights out and stuff. I'm trying not to think long term at the moment, because it just depresses me thinking I'm now going to spend the rest of my life working, probably in some office. Why can't we just stay students permanently? :(

I'm kind of hoping I'll be able to live with Daz and Neil and/or Alex in Nottingham to, but I'm not sure if that will happen, we'll just have to see.

Ah well, at least the last exam seemed to go ok (suprisingly!), I really don't know what to do with myself now, i'm already rambling on here... I think i'll stop now before I go on to much....

BBQ and Beer

That's the big Management of IT Projects exam over, lets hope the obscene amount of revision paid off!


Ended up having a BBQ at Mitchard's, with Poker and lots of Beer (of course!). Was a good night, although, one day we'll actually manage to have a bbq when its not raining or blowing a gail! (That might involve emigrating first though...)



I reckon that BBQ needs some more lighter fluid... ;-)


One more exam left, most people don't seem too bothered about it, but its my worst module, so we shall see... Then I just need to find a job and a house! Great fun.

One down three to go...

I reckon i'm going to give this blogging thing a go, i've made a few changes to the site to show it, so we'll see where this goes...


I'll carry on with it like this for the moment, just writing it by hand. Not got much time what with all the revision and stuff and it doesn't seem to be to much of a pain to update. Found some reasonable blogging software that
Michael is trying out on his site, but until I can work out how to make it fit in with the look of my site, this'll do fine!


One exam down! Not sure how well it went, all I know is could have done with another hour on it, but oh well!

Revision

Since I'm thinking about writing a blog here at some point, might as well make a start! At some point after these exams have finished and I actually have some time again I will try and do this properly i.e. proper blog software that I can update more easily (from my mobile would be good)!


Currently revising, well, should I say, learning the whole final year :) There's not enough days in the week for the amount of revision we need to do :( Ah well, it'll all be over on 3rd June thank god... But for now, four exams to go and counting...


Had a bit of a break after all the coursework and assignments though, a well good day after dissertation hand-in (apart from my housemate breaking his finger!), which obviously involved a lot of drinking! Photo's are available on
